Golden Touch


Once upon a time there lived a greedy king. He was very rich, and he loves gold. But he loved his daughter much more than anything. One day, fairy hair was caught in a tree branch.He helped her in coming out, but as his greediness overtook him, he realised that he had an opportunity to become richer by asking for a wish in return by helping her.He helped her. Then fairy granted him a wish. He said, “what all I touch,that should turn to gold.” And his wish was granted by that fairy.


The greedy king rushed to the palace to tell his wife and daughter about his wish, all the while touching stones and pebbles and watching them convert into gold. Once he reached the palace his daughter rushed to greet him. As soon as she touched her to greet him, she turned into a golden statue. He started crying and trying to bring his daughter back to life. He realised his foolishness and spent the rest of his days searching for the fairy to take away his wish.


Moral of the Story

Greediness will always lead to our own downfall.
